Meet Us
Coming from a Finnish heritage in Minnesota, I've been using saunas my entire life. I've always had a passion for a well constructed sauna, somewhere that is refreshing and relaxing to be as well as offers the proper heat and "löyly", or steam, for health benefits. Many Americans are unaware of the proper construction as well as the proper use of a true sauna, and I'd love to work with you to create your wellness retreat.

FinnBuilt can help design and build your very own home sauna in Arizona.
There are a few things to consider with interior saunas - adequate ventilation, access to a shower, and floor drainage...most of the time these ideally would be located next to a bathroom if inside. If you have some spare space, a sauna can be built in as small as a 7' x 7' room.
Once outside, the possibilities are limitless as these can be built from the ground up. While the exterior can match the architecture of your house, the interior can be designed in any fashion.
The interior design of a sauna is often designed with rot resistant wood due to the high moisture content and heat, such as cedar or thermally treated wood such as aspen, pine, and more. Stone accents can be added to make the space feel more high end, and glass is often used to make the space feel larger and more inviting. The important thing is to make sure the heat and steam can be evenly dispersed throughout.
How Much Does an In-Home Sauna Cost?
The cost for a custom sauna in Arizona can vary widely depending on location in or around the house, materials used, size, type of sauna heater used, and more. One sauna may be close to the electrical panel and floor drainage, use a base model heater, and just have cedar tongue and groove, while another may be far away from power and drainage, use a luxury heater, and use specially treated thermo-wood and stone elements and custom lighting. These are all things we take into account while quoting a custom sauna. As a general frame of reference, the price can range anywhere from 10k to upwards of 50k depending on the many variables.
